What was the highlight of Hotel La Corte Matera
Very Good
Its a real beauty, the room and bathroom were big, clean and comfortable.
Reception staff was downright incompetent. Despite the fact that I had my booking confirmed, I had to argue with him to check the booking properly. I then had to force him to read and understand that I booked 2 rooms before he could give me the second key. He made no attempt at all to accomodate that my Italian was non-existent and that I am a guest. Therefore, all these arguments were done through the family member whose Italuan was just passable and with me using gestures and insisting that he reads. Horrible experience for a reception in a 4 star hotel.

Very Good
Clean, friendly staff, helpful staff, large room. 7 minute drive from Matera.
Weirdly quiet for such a large complex, no bar open which was stated and no swimming pool with was also stated.
